Muhammadaiman Doloh made the difficult decision to leave school during Mathayom 5 to find work and help relieve his family's financial burden. This pivotal moment marked his transition into becoming an out-of-school youth (Not in Education, Employment or Training: NEET).
Although his actions were driven by gratitude, the income he earned could not keep pace with the rising cost of living and was insufficient to support his family. He eventually chose to change his path again, determining to focus on developing skills for his future instead.
Being selected for the 11th batch of the Electrician Vocational Training Programme, supported by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), provided him with more than just technical knowledge and a source of income. It helped erase the insults and doubts from those around him and restored his self-confidence. Crucially, it allowed him to fulfill the intention he held from the very beginning: making his mother proud.
Today, Muhammadaiman is not only someone with a job; he is an inspiration for those seeking opportunity and refusing to give in to limitations.
“Education is the key to a better life,” he believes firmly in this message and encourages relevant organisations to expand their outreach around similar programmes. This would ensure that this vital "key" reaches the hands of many more out-of-school youths who are waiting for a life-changing opportunity, just as he once was.
