Training of Trainers Manual for Tsunami School Evacuation Planning and Drills

Developed under the Partnerships for Strengthening School Preparedness for Tsunamis in the Asia-Pacific Region, this publication serves as a Training of Trainers (ToT) Manual for Tsunami School Evacuation Planning and Drills. Supported by UNDP and the Government of Japan, the manual enhances the capacity of educators, school administrators, and local authorities to plan and conduct effective tsunami evacuation drills. It provides step-by-step guidance—from risk assessment, mapping, and evacuation planning to drill implementation, evaluation, and first aid practice. Aligned with Thailand’s National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Plan (2021–2027) and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (2015–2030), the manual promotes school safety, disaster preparedness, and community resilience in tsunami-prone areas through practical exercises, participatory learning, and locally adapted evacuation planning.
