Across Southeast Asia, migrant fishers keep our seafood supply chains moving – filling critical labour gaps and strengthening food security.

Recognizing their contribution, ASEAN has developed the Guidelines on the Placement and Protection of Migrant Fishers – a vital step toward ensuring safe, decent work for all migrants in the sector. IOM helped provide Indonesian, Khmer, Lao, Myanmar, Tagalog, Tetum, Thai, and Vietnamese translations for wider access.
