Bangkok (29 April 2026) - This Wednesday, UN Thailand, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, welcomed over 100 representatives from Member States and partners for a presentation of the UN Country Team (UNCT) Annual Results Report 2025. The opening remarks were delivered by Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations.
On this occasion, Ms. Michela Friberg-Storey, UN Resident Coordinator in Thailand, expressed gratitude to all partners who have been part of the partnership between the UN and Thailand, and underscored that true sustainability means leaving no one behind.
In 2025, Thailand reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable development, topping the SDG Index in Southeast Asia for the seventh consecutive year. The government accelerated its net-zero greenhouse gas emissions target to 2050, 15 years ahead of the previous timeline, with progress across marriage equality, statelessness, work rights for refugees, and child protection.
These results were presented at the briefing by UNIDO Representative Mr. Fukuya Iino, WHO Representative Dr. Ailan Li, and UNDP Resident Representative Ms. Niamh Collier-Smith.
