The Resident Coordinator leads the UN Country Team, which comprises the representatives of UN entities active in Thailand. Please note that due to our recruitment rules and regulations, the UN will not accept or consider applications sent by email. All employment opportunities are posted online and require interested applicants to follow the instructions when submitting their application, including making sure they meet eligibility criteria, to be considered.

I have been contacted with a job offer at the United Nations and I am not sure if this offer is legitimate. How can I tell that a United Nations offer is legitimate and not a scam?

• The United Nations does not charge a fee at any stage of its recruitment process (application, interview, processing, training, visa or other fee) or guarantee compensation or remuneration other than what is stated in an official job announcement to which an interested applicant must first apply through a verified organizational online platform. The United Nations does not send employment or engagement offers without a candidate having first applied for a specific opportunity through a verified organizational platform.
• The United Nations does not charge a fee at any stage of its procurement process (supplier registration, bids submission or other fee). The United Nations does not request or issue personal bank checks, Money Grams, Western Union transfers or any other type of money transfer at any stage of its procurement/recruitment process.
• The United Nations does not request any information related to bank accounts or other private information prior to formal registration as a vendor. The United Nations does not offer prizes, awards, funds, certificates, scholarships or lotteries via telephone, e-mail, social media, regular mail or fax.
Financial loss and identity theft can result from the transfer of money or disclosure of personal information to those issuing fraudulent correspondence. The United Nations is not responsible for any such loss or theft. We strongly recommend that recipients of solicitations to apply for or accept United Nations positions or engage in procurement exercises disregard any such solicitations as these are scams.

• mitrthai.com is a partnership among various agencies that promote protection and skills development for migrant workers from Cambodia, Myanmar and Lao PDR coming to work in Thailand.
• On mitrthai.com you can find useful information in your language, and provision of legal advice and services for migrant workers and their dependents such as information about safe migration to Thailand, working and living in Thailand, access to healthcare, education, skills training, labour rights and assistance for migrant workers.
I am a refugee or asylum seeker, seeking protection in Thailand. How may I connect with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency?
If you are a refugee or asylum seeker in Thailand, you may contact UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency in several ways:
• Reception Call Centre: UNHCR launched a new Reception Call Centre: 02-340-6500. The previous reception contact numbers will be no longer in use. To share your queries, please contact the above UNHCR Reception Centre during working hours (9AM – 4:30PM on weekdays)
• Emergencies: for afterhours emergencies, you can contact 081-899-7617 (Monday-Friday 4:30PM – 11PM; Saturday-Sunday 9AM – 11PM). Please note that this hotline is only to be used in emergency situations. Non-emergency issues should be raised via the Reception Call Centre or by e-mail (below).
• E-mail: Please write to thaba[@]unhcr.org.
Additionally, UNHCR has launched a LINE Account for urban refugees and asylum-seekers in Thailand to receive regular updates on UNHCR’s activities and practical information and announcements.
