About the Resident Coordinator's Office

In Thailand, the United Nations Country Team is led by the UN Resident Coordinator, with the support of the Resident Coordinator’s Office.

The UN Resident Coordinator, who serves as the UN Secretary General’s representative in country, is impartial and empowered to lead the UN Country Team to deliver on the 2030 Agenda through the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework with the Royal Thai Government.

The UN Country Team is comprised of the representatives of UN entities in Thailand who are advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. They capitalize on their respective strengths and comparative advantages, for maximum impact through coherent programmes and reduced transaction costs.

The UN Resident Coordinator ad interim in Thailand

Ms. Géraldine Ansart is the UN Resident Coordinator in Thailand, ad interim, and is the Chief of Mission for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Thailand since October 2020. She has more than 15 years of experience in humanitarian aid and development programming. Previously, she was the IOM Syria Crisis Coordinator; she led the IOM - European Union Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid partnership team in Brussels and worked as a Migration and Development Specialist covering the Great Lakes region of Africa. Ms. Ansart holds a Master’s Degree in International Administration from Sorbonne University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Law as well as Political Sciences.
