BANGKOK, 3 April 2025 – The United Nations Country Team (UNCT) and the Government of Thailand held a Tripartite Steering Committee Meeting today to review progress on the 2022–2026 UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) and explore strategies to accelerate its implementation.
The meeting was co-chaired by Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand; Mr. Wanchat Suwankitti, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Economic and Social Development Council; and Ms. Michaela Friberg-Storey, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Thailand. Their collaboration underscored the strong partnership between the UN and Thailand in advancing sustainable development.
Representatives from 21 UN agencies outlined key achievements under the Cooperation Framework and proposed steps to fast-track progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Discussions emphasized joint priorities, including fostering an inclusive, resilient, and green economy; strengthening human capital; and reducing inequalities. Both parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to accelerating action on the SDGs through deepened cooperation.
