Urban October: Housing For All

Home is where the heart is.

Join the UN in Thailand and partners in spreading the message that housing is more than just a roof. Where we live inherently shapes our identity. And yet for 5.9 million households in Thailand, having a home is not always assured

Adequate housing is central to providing shelter against safety and health risks. It is an essential condition of living in dignity, and the basis for belonging and wellbeing, and a key for access to public spaces, job opportunities, hospitals, schools and food.

This year in Thailand, multiple stakeholders are collaborating to respond to the current crisis, share solutions and create cities of the future for everyone. Join us in sharing your story from your home, street or neighbourhood in raising awareness to the issue of #Housing4All.

Inclusive, affordable and adequate housing is the central to transforming the #CityWeNeed and communities and making them resilient, and to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 11 and all the SDGs. The time to act is now.

About Urban October

The UN and governments around the world recognize urbanization and livelihood as key thematic challenges of the 21st century. Urban October is an opportunity for everyone to be part of the conversation about the challenges and opportunities created by the fast rate of change in our cities and towns. Each October, everyone interested in sustainable urbanization from national and local governments to universities, NGOs and communities is encouraged to hold or participate in activities, events, and discussions.
